Underwriter - (Medical / Protection)- Bristol (Hybrid working)

Hawksworth are partnering with a global Financial Services company to hire a Medical Underwriter in Group Protection. This is a Permanent hire, looking for an experience Medical Underwriter, Bristol based on a hybrid basis, salary range £38k to £56,400+ bonus + package. You will also receive a 10-15% bonus (Performance related), plus 9% non-contribution pension plus they will match you up to a further 6% (so total max potential pension of 21%), plus considerable holiday allowance and further benefits.

The job:

We are looking for an experienced Medical Underwriter to help us deliver expertise in medical underwriting, with a recognized underwriting authority. Ideally within Life, Income Protection and Critical illness.

What we are looking for:

• Experience of working within a Medical Underwriting Team and making an accurate assessment of medical evidence gathered
• Able to underwrite for multiple Protection product lines
• Understanding of underwriting manuals and processes
• Understanding of the Protection products which require underwriting input
• Maintains underwriting knowledge with industry and market changes
• Inquisitive and Customer centric approach with an ability to think outside of the norm and challenge existing processes
• GR1 or other industry recognized qualification (desired)
